Canadian duo Pamela Ware and Jennifer Abel have expressed their disappointment after missing out gold in the Commonwealth Games synchronised 3m springboard final.
Abel won the event with Emilie Heymans four years ago and was expected to retain the title with Ware this year, but it wasn't to be as England's Alicia Blagg and Rebecca Gallantree snatched victory with the final dive of the night at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh.
Although Abel and Ware insisted that winning silver was still good, they felt that they hadn't performed well enough and should have won gold.
The duo were visibly glum and Ware told Sports Mole: "It's not the place that we were looking for, it's more the points.
"We're disappointed with our own dives, I missed two dives so that's disappointing."
The pair can still win gold as they are both taking part in the individual finals for 1m springboard and 3m springboard, which take place on Friday and Saturday respectively.
