China have continued their domination in the sport by securing gold in the mixed 3m synchro springboard event at the Diving World Series in Dubai.
Zi He and Aisen Chen led the way in the early stages by scoring a 51.60 with an opening forward 1.5 somersault dive, while Canada's Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac matched on points with a back dive.
China edged in front in the second round when they performed a back and reverse dive worth a score of 104.40, but Canada were just behind by a point following their reverse dive.
Despite the tight contest, China managed to seal the top spot on the podium with a final back 2.5 somersault dive, which earned them 338.40 points, while Canada took home silver.
Ukrainian duo Maxsym Dolgov and Viktoriya Kesar lagged behind after the first two rounds, but a score of 168.80 for their third dive pushed them up the board and eventually into the bronze-medal position.
Mexico's Rommel Pacheco and Dolores Hernandez failed to medal after scoring 302.40 from their five rounds.
