Millie Fowler tells Sports Mole that she is "frustrated" after failing to bring home an individual diving medal for Team GB at the European Games.

Young GB diver Millie Fowler has admitted her disappointment after failing to land a spot on the podium in tonight's 1m final at the European Games.

The 17-year-old failed to follow in the footsteps of teammates James Heatly, Ross Haslam and Lois Toulson in bringing home a diving medal tonight despite a promising performance in the day's earlier prelim session, where she placed second.

In the final however, she stumbled with her last and most ambitious dive, the forward 2-1/2 somersault, to fall to sixth on the leaderboard.

Shortly afterwards, Sports Mole caught up with a tearful Fowler to find out where it went wrong.

How are you feeling after that performance?

"Disappointed and a little bit frustrated, but there's still a lot of positives I can take from it. I don't want to let one dive ruin my whole look back on these Games. I know I can do that dive better but things like that happen to everyone."

You mentioned the positives - you finished second in the prelims earlier today. That must have felt pretty good.

"I wasn't expecting anything like that. I got a new PB in the prelim as well. I can take a lot away from this whole experience, so there's a lot of things I can use as motivation. I can learn from what I've done today."

And it's not lost completely - you've got another opportunity tomorrow with the other Millie (Haffety) in the synchro. How's training been going for that?
"It's been going good. Synchro has been a good event for us all year, so I'm definitely looking forward to it. I appreciate the fact that I have another opportunity to get in there and show people what I can do."

One other thing to take away from this must surely be the Village experience, too.

"It's incredible. It's just so much bigger and more exciting than I thought it was going to be. That's definitely going to be a highlight of the whole Games. Being in the Village, staying with the whole of Team GB and being part of a team that has people from more than one sport is amazing."
