China's dominance of the Olympic diving continued today with victory for Chen Ruolin and Hao Wang in the women's synchronised 10m platform.
The duo were near-flawless throughout, turning in a final score of 368.40 - more than 20 points ahead of closest rivals the Mexicans.
Paola Sanchez and Alejandra Loza of Mexico turned on the style at the death, pulling off a well-executed back two-and-a-half somersault with a one-and-a-half twist to earn them a final score of 343.32 and a silver medal.
Canadian duo Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion were consistent throughout the five rounds, sealing the bronze with a points tally of 337.62.
Team GB's Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch got off to an early lead, and were within touching distance of China after the second round, only to come undone on the third.
Poor execution on their third dive saw them awarded just 68.16 from the judges, moving them out of the running. They finished up in fifth with 321.72.
