Sonia Kruger hints at Celebrity Big Brother return

Big Brother Australia host Sonia Kruger teases a potential return for the celebrity edition of the show.

Big Brother Australia host Sonia Kruger has hinted that the celebrity version of the show could make a comeback in the near future.

After almost six years off Aussie screens, BB made a comeback on Seven last month with a new pre-recorded format - and healthy ratings have already led to it being renewed for another edition in 2021.

A celebrity edition of Big Brother has only aired once before - in 2002, under the old format - but Kruger thinks that the show's shakeup could make compelling viewing with famous faces as housemates.

"I really feel like this new version of the show has set the tone now," she told 7News. "I was just walking through Channel Seven here, and quite a few celebrities have asked me if there's going to be a celebrity version.

"I can't name names... I can't... Mark Beretta! (sports presenter)"

The current season will conclude with a live finale on July 27.
