BT Sport and Amazon will reportedly share rights to the Champions League from the 2024-25 season onwards.

BT Sport and Amazon have reportedly reached an agreement to share the UK rights to the Champions League from the 2024-25 season.

BT has been the exclusive home of UEFA's club competitions since 2015 and currently pays around £400m a season for the rights.

The new three-season deal coincides with an expansion of the Champions League, taking the number of games per season from 125 up to 189.

As a result, the value of the rights is thought to have gone up by around 25%, with the Daily Mail claiming that BT and Amazon have paid a combined £1.5 billion across the three-year period.

The split of games between the two broadcasters is currently unclear, although it is believed that they will also both share rights to the Europa League and the third-tier Europa Conference League.

The deal will be BT's first major rights acquisition following the announcement of its merger with Discovery's Eurosport operation.
