ITV announces a deal to take over Broadcast Centre, the former home of the BBC for more than 50 years.

ITV has announced plans to relocate to Broadcast Centre at White City, previously home to the BBC for more than 50 years.

The corporation left the site in 2013 and for the last few years it has been used to film shows including ITV's daytime staples Good Morning Britain and This Morning.

ITV's staff are currently based at several locations around London but the move to Broadcast Centre - agreed as part of a 13-year lease - will put the broadcaster's staff under one roof for the first time.

Explaining the move, ITV CEO Carolyn McCall said: "Our people have made it really clear to us that they want to build on the positive aspects of their experience over the last 18 months to have a more balanced approach to office based and remote working.

"That balance will vary from team to team given the kind of work we do and we know that face to face collaboration is crucial for creativity and innovation - we're looking forward to this new hybrid way of working.

"Our new office will bring everyone from ITV in London together and will provide the size and flexibility to enable everyone to perform their roles, help ITV deliver on our strategy as well as get the balance they want in their lives."

The first ITV employees will move to White City early next year, with the transition expected to be complete by the end of 2022.
