Liverpool's 5-0 humiliation of Manchester United at Old Trafford helped Sky Sports to record its best ever daily ratings on Sunday.
The broadcaster recorded an average of 1.2 million viewers across its portfolio of channels between 6am and 2am, with a reach of more than 8m different people.
The ratings peaked at 5.50pm when a total of 4.5m viewers were watching coverage of the Premier League fixture as well as the ICC Men's T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
The day of sport also included coverage of Tottenham Hotspur's 1-0 loss at West Ham United, the USA F1 Grand Prix in Austin, Rangers in action in the Scottish Premiership, live Bundesliga and three NFL games.
"We're proud to offer such a variety of exciting live sporting events to millions of households across the UK, delivered by award-winning production teams," said Sky Sports MD Jonathan Licht.
"For over 30 years Sky Sports has brought viewers together for the unmissable moments only live sport can provide. It's great to see the appeal of live sport is stronger than ever."
TV ratings figures do not take into account the number of viewers in pubs, bars or other non-household settings. body check tags ::
