GB News has announced that Dan Wootton has joined the upcoming station to present a new show.
The journalist has worked his way up at The Sun and is currently serving as its executive editor, but he will leave the newspaper and step down from his show on talkRADIO to make the move to the new news channel.
"It was an incredibly tough decision to leave my roles at News UK after seven life-changing years at The Sun and, more recently, presenting talkRADIO's Drivetime show," said Wootton, 37.
"But the opportunity to join GB News is just too good to pass up.
"I feel passionately about GB News' bold vision to bring a fresh approach to television news and debate that embraces all voices and opinions across Britain."
Angelos Frangopoulos, GB News chief exec, said: "Dan brings a terrific energy to everything he does and has a wonderful ability to connect with all viewers across the UK.
"He also shares our vision for challenging the status quo and being more inclusive of different viewpoints while delivering impartial journalism and entertaining debate."
Overseen by broadcasting heavyweight Andrew Neil, GB News is in the process of recruiting around 120 journalists ahead of the channel's launch later this year.
