Sky Sports records best ratings ever on Sunday

Sky Sports reports its best ever day on Sunday, with 14 million total viewers tuning in to its channels.

Sky Sports has reported recording its best ever daily ratings on Sunday with an average of 933,000 viewers across its channels throughout the day.

The broadcaster's schedule for the day featured four Premier League games, including shock heavy defeats for Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as the T20 Blast finals, transfer deadline day buildup and a packed matchday of NFL action.

A peak of 3.3 million viewers - a 25% audience share - were watching at 4.55pm, while the overall reach for the day stood at 14 million viewers with an average individual viewership of 95 minutes.

"These viewing numbers show the importance of sport to our viewers," said Rob Webster, MD at Sky Sports.

"At a time when the UK is spending more time at home, I'm delighted that our teams are able to showcase a choice of world-class sporting content from around the world."

Sky has been granted the rights to show significantly more Premier League games than usual due to the lack of live audiences at top-flight games.
