Steve tells Ken that he's going to look for his own place and move out of No. 1. Meanwhile, a tearful Cassie claims to Ken that she's racked up a large credit card debt buying Christmas presents for her family.
Bernie intervenes when she sees David and Kit arguing, reminding her son that David was a good friend to Paul.
Max and Lily demand answers, prompting Shona to explain that David prevented her from seeing Clayton. Later, David attempts to get Kit to confess his crime of implicating Nathan Curtis but Kit sees right through him.
Toyah finds out from Dee-Dee that Leanne could get jail time and asks Nick to drop the charges against her.
Also: Carla invites Lisa and Betsy to stay for the new year after their flat is flooded by a burst pipe, while Lauren admits to Max that she's terrified about her upcoming trial.

After Evelyn complains about her life lacking purpose these days, Roy suggests that she should undertake a law degree.
Also: Kit tells David that he's back on the Radcliffe brothers' hit list, while Ken apologises to Cassie for being poor company as he's feeling completely exhausted.

New Year's Day (Episodes 11457 and 11458)

Having heard about his rough treatment at the hands of his brothers, Dylan suggests to Mason that they put the past behind them. Later, Betsy arrives at No. 4 and is surprised to find that Mason has cooked her a three-course meal.
Sarah spots Daniel speaking to Daisy at The Rovers, and when Daisy heads to the back room in tears, Sarah follows her and asks what's going on.
Roy grows concerned for Carla when she starts hearing things and looking confused. Later, he decides to check in on her and finds her barely conscious on the living room floor of her flat. At the hospital, the doctor tells Roy that he suspects Carla has sepsis.
Meanwhile, an unaware Lisa follows Matty to the Precinct and demands to know where he was on the night Becky was killed.
Also: Evelyn tells Tyrone that she's applied to read law at university, while a concerned Tracy asks Steve not to move out as she fears that Ken is being played by Cassie.

Carla's left shocked by the news that the sepsis has affected her kidney and she may need another a transplant. Meanwhile, when Ryan returns from Ireland Lisa soon realises that Carla has lied about her whereabouts. Lisa confronts Carla, who insists that she just didn't want any fuss and Lisa leaves feeling hurt.
Evelyn heads for an interview at the university and is dismayed to come face to face with Marjorie Tavistock, the woman she impersonated at the law lecture.
Betsy is angry to find messages on Mason's phone from Stu offering him a job in Germany as a trainee chef. Later, Lisa shows a shocked Mason photos from the crime scene of Becky's death that demonstrate his brothers were driving the car that ran her down. How will Mason react to the news and is there anything he can find that could help Lisa?
Also: Steve and Amy reckon that Tracy is overly worried about Ken, Hope and Joseph film prank videos of Tyrone and upload them to social media and Daisy tells Daniel that it's for the best if she cuts ties with Bertie.
