This week on Coronation Street, a terrifying twist of events sees James collapse with heart problems during a football game.

Griff causes multiple headaches

As the protest gets underway outside the factory, Nadeem arrives and Carla is forced to apologise - the deal is off. Spider's horrified when Griff pulls out a bottle and throws it, hitting Craig on the head.

Carla's frustrated when she finds Griff telling Peter about his conspiracy theories surrounding big pharma.

Griff's determined to teach Saira a lesson by torching her car, but Spider warns Toyah to cut Griff off with her trial looming. Spider confesses that his marriage is over and he's in love with her - and as Toyah responds by kissing him, Saira spots them together on the balcony.

James suffers horror collapse

After Tim pulls out of the match in a huff, James is forced to step in - and in the dying minutes of the game, he puts the Rovers back ahead of the Flying Horse. His dad and brother then watch on in horror as he collapses to the ground.

At the hospital, James learns that he has a condition called cardiomyopathy and will need to be fitted with an ICD to stop him from having further cardiac arrests.

When Peter catches Tim hiding away in the cab office, he confesses that Trina is his sex therapist before opening up about his impotence.

Brian, Wendy and Mary secure parts in the production, while Ken and Evelyn discover that they failed to make the cut.

Stephen lets himself into the salon and starts practising Audrey's signature - what will he say when his mother suddenly arrives?

Sam shows up to Jalena's party determined to impress her by wearing a football top, but she tells him that she has no interest in football and has invited John to play chess with her instead.

On his way home, Stu is attacked by three lads who brand him a murderer.
