Coronation Street producers have revealed more details of the soap's plans for the upcoming 60th anniversary.
The show reaches its milestone birthday on December 9 and will air a special week of episodes to mark the occasion.
The long-running domestic abuse storyline between Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) and Yasmeen (Shelley King) will reach a conclusion with the result of her trial, while two residents will "keep a shameful secret that will ruin their lives and those around them".
In recent weeks Ray (Mark Frost) has been seen attempting to buy up properties on one side of the street with the ultimate aim of bulldozing the lot to build a new development - a plot that will also come to a head during the week.
A Corrie spokesperson revealed: "The anniversary week will see three storylines reach spectacular conclusions while at the same time starting off new chains of events which will take the show into 2021 and beyond.
"For months the nation has been gripped by the appalling abuse inflicted by Geoff Metcalfe upon his wife Yasmeen.
"With Yasmeen on remand charged with Geoff's attempted murder, the anniversary week will see the end of her trial. Will justice be done or is the nightmare only just beginning for Yasmeen and Alya?
"At the centre of the anniversary drama is of course Coronation Street itself as the residents unite to save the cobbles from the dastardly dealings of Ray Crosby.
"Having bought up most of the property and businesses in the area, Ray is ready to flatten the lot to make way for his new development.
"As the bulldozers arrive on the cobbles the race is on to save Britain's most famous street."
Earlier this week veteran cast members Bill Roache and Barbara Knox were pictured on the set filming scenes for the special episodes.
