Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has said that she feels "really comfortable" having taken the decision to return to the soap last year.
The 28-year-old joined the soap almost a decade ago in 2015 in the role of Bethany Platt - daughter of Sarah (Tina O'Brien) - and became a firm fan favourite during her initial five-year stint, which ended in 2020 just before the coronavirus outbreak.
After nearly five years in London, Bethany made a surprise return to Weatherfield over the new year and was instantly thrown into a series of storylines that have seen her get back with old flame Daniel (Rob Mallard), become frenemies with Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) and come face-to-face again with her abuser Nathan (Chris Harper).
Reflecting on her return, Fallon said: "I absolutely loved working here and I just feel really comfortable. It's a really genuinely nice place to work and it doesn't actually feel like coming to work every day.
"All my friends are here and I just love working with them, so it was always something that I wanted to do."
"I've only been back for seven months but I know every single part of Tina's life and she knows every single part of mine because we work so closely with each other," she continued. "You just become so intertwined in people's lives and I just love that kind of relationship because I feel really lucky to get that at work."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, while Fallon can also be seen in the fly-on-the-wall soap series Drama Queens, available for streaming on ITVX.
