Millie Gibson reveals that she has signed her first permanent contract to play Kelly Neelan on Coronation Street.

Millie Gibson has revealed that she has signed her first permanent contract with Coronation Street.

The news means that wild child Kelly Neelan will be a regular fixture on the soap moving forward, having appeared sporadically since her debut in June 2019.

"I'm honestly over the moon," the 16-year-old told The Sun. "It's been so nice to explore different layers of Kelly, because when she first came in, she was a troubled girl looking for her dad.

"It started to unfold that she had all of these other problems going on, and all of these other encounters with different characters that added to her personality and journey throughout Corrie. It's been amazing to explore Kelly.

"I never imagined this would happen but I'm over the moon.

"I just thought it was going to be a once-in-a-blue-moon experience, but I'm now part of this amazing family."

Kelly is currently involved in a story that has seen her framed for the murder of Seb (Harry Visinoni) by bad boy Corey (Maximus Evans).
