Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor has said that she still enjoys appearing on the soap but has vowed to leave as soon as she does not.
The 58-year-old has played the role of Sally Metcalfe/Sally Webster on the cobbles for an incredible 36 years, making her the sixth-longest continuously-serving cast member behind Bill Roache, Barbara Knox, Helen Worth, Sue Nicholls and Michael Le Vell.
Talking to Prima magazine about her appetite to continue, she admitted: "As soon as I don't enjoy my role any more, I'll leave. I'm a firm believer in doing what makes you happy.
"Who knows, I might get killed off - or Steven Spielberg might knock on the door. I don't want to say I'll be there forever, because you don't know what is around the corner."
She added: "I never imagined I'd play Sally for as long as I have. It was the ideal job when my kids were little as I live 20 minutes from the studio, so I was always home for bedtime.
"But three decades on, I still enjoy it as much as when I started. From the cast and camera people to the make-up artists, we've grown up with one another and been there for life's milestones – it's like we're a family."
Dynevor recently took some time out from the show to take part in this year's Dancing On Ice.
