Billie Piper "wouldn't go back" to Doctor Who

Billie Piper appears to rule out reprising her role as Billie Piper in future episodes of Doctor Who.

Billie Piper has appeared to rule out any future return to Doctor Who as Rose Tyler.

The actress played the Doctor's first companion when the show was revived in 2005, appearing in two series before bowing out - although she has since reprised the character several times, most recently in 2013 for Who's 50th anniversary.

As one of the series most popular ever stars, Piper is consistently asked about making a comeback but has admitted that the relentless filming schedule is too much for her to recommit to.

"I wouldn't go back. It's a great role, but you're away from your kids for so long," she told The Guardian.

"My experience was that you were in Wales for nine months solid. And as a job it dominates your life.

"It's mainstream family viewing so you can't really escape it. It feels like it makes you very, very famous."

Piper will next be seen in Rare Beasts, a film that also marks her directorial debut, due for release in May.
