Former EastEnders star Jonny Labey has joined the cast of Hollyoaks as shady new character Rex.
The actor, 31, is known for playing fan-favourite Paul Coker on the BBC soap from 2015 to 2016 as part of hard-hitting storyline that saw his character murdered in a homophobic attack.
In Hollyoaks he will play local businessman Rex, who decides to get involved with the dodgy dealings of Warren (Jamie Lomas) and Ste (Kieron Richardson).
In recent weeks Warren has been forcing Ste to carry out jobs for him as punishment for killing daughter Ella (Erin Palmer), including pushing drugs, smuggling beer and laundering money.
Rex will make his debut in the village later this month.
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 7pm on E4, with first-look episodes available from 7.30pm on Channel 4 streaming.
