Director: Duncan Foster

Ruby accepts Moira's olive branch and goes for lunch with her, but Moira's come up with a plan.

Belle visits Manpreet to organise her contraception but makes it clear that she doesn't want it sent to their home. Meanwhile, at work Tom messes up, diagnosing an elderly dog with cancer without having done the right blood tests. Vanessa arrives and rectifies the situation - it's just an abscess, but the customer leaves fuming. Tom tries to turn the tables and says that he's been made to feel unwelcome at the practice by Vanessa. He then gets an idea and invites the vet staff and their partners to dinner tomorrow night - and later, he makes it clear to Belle that the success or failure of the evening is on her shoulders.

This episode airs Monday, May 6 at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX

Tuesday, May 7 (Episode 9987)

Writer: Jo Maris

The guests arrive for the dinner party and while tensions simmer between Rhona and Marlon, an oblivious Mandy and Paddy are all loved up. Tom raises a toast to marital solidarity as Belle leaves the table crying, claiming that it's down to the onions.

As Paddy, Mandy, Vanessa and Suzy try to enjoy the evening, a huge row erupts between Rhona and Marlon, which culminates in Rhona seemingly ending their marriage in front of the group.

In another perspective of the night, we see Tom asking Belle to change into a more appropriate outfit before the guests arrive. Later, when she makes a trip to the bathroom, Tom follows her and makes threats before watching her closely for the rest of the evening. After Rhona and Marlon's argument, the guests all leave despite Belle's attempts to convince them to stay. When they're alone, we witness the terrifying reality of Belle's home life with Tom.
