Darcy Gray quits Emmerdale after one year in the role of Marcus Dean.

Darcy Gray has quit Emmerdale after a year in the role of Marcus Dean.

The character - son of Rhona's murderous ex Pierce Harris - moved to the Dales last February and quickly got into a relationship with Ethan (Emile John).

In recent weeks their romance has hit the rocks, however, with Marcus being arrested for assault of Ethan's lecherous boss Greg.

A source told The Sun: "Marcus' time in the village came to a natural end.

"Darcy is keen to spread his wings but the door has been left open."

Marcus's final scenes are expected to air later this month.
