The BBC has said that it hopes to announce the UK entrant for this year's Eurovision Song Contest shortly.
Once again the broadcaster is conducting an internal search to find this year's entry rather than using a public vote or national selection format.
Last year James Newman was chosen to fly the flag for the country with his original track 'My Last Breath' before the competition was cancelled due to coronavirus.
Under Eurovision rules, his song can not be resubmitted for 2021 although there is no rule to prevent him from representing the UK with a different song.
A post on the BBC Eurovision Twitter account today promoted tonight's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, which features a Eurovision-style challenge, alongside the note: "P.S. we promise to have 2021 artist & song news soon."
Eurovision has a deadline of March 26 for participating countries to have submitted a back-up pre-recorded performance from their entrant for this year's competition.
