Channel 4 has announced that it has granted S4C permission to launch a Welsh-language version of one of its most popular shows, Gogglebox.
Called Gogglebocs Cymru, the new show will launch this autumn and feature a diverse range of Welsh-language households - based in both Wales and the wider UK - giving their verdicts on the best and worst of the week's TV.
LLinos Griffin-Williams, chief content officer at S4C, said: "I am thrilled that Channel 4 has, for the first time, made an exception with one of their most valued formats, by agreeing to release exclusivity of Gogglebox in the UK to S4C.
"As two public service broadcasters, with a close and collaborative working relationship, we are delighted to be entrusted with such an important brand."
S4C is available nationally via providers such as Sky and Virgin Media - and is also streamed live through BBC iPlayer - with English subtitles available for key programmes.
