Donald Trump unfollows Piers Morgan after "bats**t" comment

President Donald Trump unfollows Piers Morgan on Twitter, hours after the Good Morning Britain host branded him "stupid, reckless and dangerous".

US President Donald Trump has unfollowed Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan after he penned a column entitled 'Shut the f**k up, President Trump'.

The pair had been friends for years after Morgan appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice - and the former newspaper editor became Trump's interviewer of choice on his visits to the UK.

Morgan has been heavily critical of Trump's approach to the coronavirus crisis, however, and in his latest column for the Daily Mail branded him "stupid, reckless and dangerous" for a "batshit crazy" suggestion that disinfectant injections could cure the disease.

Trump is a notoriously heavy user of Twitter yet only followed 47 people - including Morgan - but now he has reduced that number to 46.

Noting that he had been unfollowed, Morgan wrote: "UPDATE: President ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ has unfollowed me on Twitter, hours after I wrote [my] ⁦@DailyMail⁩ column."

Morgan has also fallen out with UK Apprentice figurehead Lord Sugar over the coronavirus outbreak.
