Hollyoaks cast Rhiannon Clements as Cormac's daughter Summer

Rhiannon Clements joins Hollyoaks as Summer Ranger, the "mischievous minx" daughter of Cormac.

Hollyoaks have announced the casting of Rhiannon Clements as village newcomer Summer Ranger.

The character arrives looking for more information on her father Cormac - recently put into a coma by Warren for his historical abuse - and looks set to be a permanent fixture as she opens up a small baking shop in the bazaar.

An insider said: "Described as angelic on the outside, but a mischievous minx on the inside, Summer is a bright, effortlessly cool tomboy, but when Summer wants something, she's capable of going to extreme lengths to get it.

"She's sure to give frenemy Sienna a run for her money in life and maybe love."

Clements said: "I was absolutely buzzing and really grateful in our current climate to get the opportunity to join the Hollyoaks family.

"Summer is fun, sarcastic and I love the zest she brings. She's all sweetness and light but she also has a nasty bite, which is going to be brilliant to play. Also, I'm incredibly jealous of her wardrobe."

Clements's first scenes will be seen next month.
