Twelve new character posters have been released for the highly-anticipated sequel Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

The movie sees Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessey) and Knuckles (Idris Elba) in an unlikely team-up with Dr Robotnik (Jim Carrey) to save the planet from the threat posed by Shadow (Keanu Reeves).

Also returning for the new film - due out on December 20 - are James Marsden as Sonic's handler Tom, Tika Sumpter as Tom's wife Maddie, Natasha Rothwell as Maddie's sister Rachel, Shemar Moore as Randall and Lee Majdoub as Robotnik's assistant Agent Stone. New to the cast is Krysten Ritter, who will play Director Rockwell.
