Kevin Spacey will be charged with multiple counts of sexual assault against three men, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has announced.
The 62-year-old actor has largely been out of the spotlight since 2017, when several men came forward to allege sexual harassment and abuse over a period spanning decades.
The new charges against Spacey relate to incidents in London in March 2005 and August 2008, as well as Gloucestershire in April 2013.
In a statement, Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said: "The CPS has authorised criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men.
"The CPS has also authorised one charge of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The authority to charge follows a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.
"The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Spacey are active and that he has the right to a fair trial."
Spacey has not yet been formally charged as he is currently in New York.
