Selena Gomez signs up for Scream 5?

The confirmed cast of Scream 5 all start following Selena Gomez on Instagram, prompting speculation that she has signed up for the new slasher movie.

Selena Gomez is rumoured to have joined the cast for the upcoming fifth movie in the Scream franchise.

The slasher series is returning for its first new film in a decade next year, with Courteney Cox and David Arquette already confirmed to be back on board.

Mexican actress Melissa Barrera and Jane The Virgin's Jenna Ortega have also joined the cast in unspecified roles and on Thursday, it emerged that all four confirmed cast members began following popstar Gomez on Instagram.

Cox followed up her follow with a message on Gomez's latest post reading: "Can't wait to meet you"

Gomez, 28, has an extensive acting resume, having started her career as a child Disney star, and more recently has appeared in films such as Spring Breakers, The Dead Don't Die and A Rainy Day In New York.
