Mel C has revealed that Spice Girls are "chatting" about a reunion for the coronation of King Charles this May.
The girl group have not performed as a five-piece since the London Olympics in 2012, with Victoria Beckham opting to sit out a subsequent mini tour of the UK and Ireland in 2019.
King Charles and his wife, the Queen consort Camilla, will be crowned in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6 - almost 70 years on from the coronation of his late mother The Queen.
To mark the occasion an extra bank holiday will take place on May 8, while on Sunday, May 7 there will be a spectacular concert at Windsor Castle with top music performers.
Spice Girls have long been rumoured as one of the acts, but although they have yet to be confirmed, Mel C has now delivered a positive update.
"We're still chatting, it's just about finding a middle ground for everybody," she told The Sun. "Will Victoria join? I'm an optimist so I'll say yes!"
She continued: "As we get older, the Spice Girls are learning the need to give each other space. In the '90s, we would go 24/7. We were young, we were ambitious, we were under a lot of pressure, we were knackered and there were flare-ups.
"All bands have similar stories, but as time has gone on, we just have that real respect and appreciation for each other. Because we know without each other, we never would have achieved what we did and we wouldn't have the lives and careers that we have now, so it's quite beautiful.
"I love it when bands get back together after a break of five or 10 years because you know they probably appreciate it more than ever."
Other performers rumoured for the concert include Lionel Richie and Harry Styles, while Ed Sheeran and Adele are believed to have turned down appearing due to other commitments. body check tags ::
