Body found in lake where Naya Rivera disappeared

Police confirm that a body has been found in Lake Piru, where Glee actress Naya Rivera disappeared last week.

Ventura County Sheriff's office have confirmed that a body has been located in the lake where Glee actress Naya Rivera went missing last Wednesday.

The 33-year-old had rented a boat with her four-year-old son and is believed to have drowned after jumping into Lake Piru - around 50 miles north-west of Los Angeles - for a swim.

A search team of more than 100 experts had been combing the lake and surrounding areas since she was reported missing and made a breakthrough shortly after sunrise on Monday.

In a statement, authorities said: "A body has been found at Lake Piru this morning. The recovery is in progress. There will be a news conference at 2 pm at the lake."

According to TMZ, sources have confirmed that the body is that of Rivera, with a formal identification expected imminently.

The tragic news comes seven years to the day that Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead in a hotel room after an accidental drugs overdose.
