Kristin Chenoweth breaks down in tears during Naya Rivera tribute

Kristin Chenoweth posts a tearful video message in tribute to Glee co-star Naya Rivera.

Kristin Chenoweth has delivered a teary tribute to Glee star Naya Rivera following her tragic death last week.

The 33-year-old drowned in Lake Piru after going out for a swim that went disastrously wrong, with authorities locating her body on Monday.

Veteran Broadway actress Chenoweth, who guest starred on Glee multiple times during its six-year run, posted a video message on Instagram addressing Rivera's death.

In among tears, she said: "A long time ago I was invited to be a guest star on a show called Glee. I had the honour of meeting all my babies, those kids, who still make me proud and I want them to know I still love them and I'm proud of them.

"And with Naya gone, I know how that hurts them. She was such a sweet, sweet child."

Meanwhile, Rivera's family have issued a statement paying tribute to a "sassy angel" and thanking the authorities for their efforts in locating her body.
