Mary Berry is reportedly set to be given a damehood in The Queen's forthcoming birthday honours.
The 85-year-old has been part of the food industry since the 1950s, training as a chef at the French Le Cordon Bleu school before going on to release cook books and appear on shows such as The Great British Bake Off and Britain's Best Home Cook.
Eight years ago Berry was awarded a CBE for services to the culinary arts and according to The Telegraph, she will now be honoured with a damehood in the next honours list.
The birthday honours were due to be presented in June but were delayed in order to include doctors, fundraisers and volunteers who have helped the UK get through the coronavirus pandemic.
In July The Queen made a rare public appearance since the coronavirus pandemic started in order to award a special knighthood to Tom Moore, who raised almost £40 million for the NHS before his 100th birthday.
