Sex Education season three to begin filming in August?

Sex Education season three could reportedly begin filming in Wales in August.

Netflix are reportedly targeting some time in August as a potential start date for filming on season three of Sex Education.

The acclaimed comedy-drama, which stars Asa Butterfield as an insecure teen, was due to begin filming new episodes this month but the UK's coronavirus lockdown meant that production had to be delayed.

With the UK showing the first signs of easing its restrictions, however, Deadline reports that the show may now start shooting in August, with a final decision expected next month.

Producers are considering having the cast and crew isolate together to ensure that social distancing rules are not broken - a serious possibility, given that many of the cast already live together in apartments in Cardiff and Newport while the show is filmed.

Sex Education is thought to be viewed by Netflix as a template for resuming production in the UK, with numerous shows - including David E. Kelley's much-anticipated new series Anatomy Of A Scandal - due to film later this year.

The production delays mean that the new season of Sex Education is likely to miss its target release date of mid-January.
