Sophie Ellis-Bextor announces Kitchen Disco tour, album
Sophie Ellis-Bextor announces a UK tour and album based on her Kitchen Disco Instagram shows.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is to take her lockdown Kitchen Disco show on a live tour of the UK next May.

For the first few months of coronavirus lockdown, the 'Take Me Home' singer broadcast a live weekly gig from her home on Instagram, attracting tens of thousands of viewers each time.

The Kitchen Disco Tour will begin on May 7, 2021 in Glasgow, moving on to dates in Birmingham, Southend, London, Bexhill, Guildford and Manchester, finishing up in Leeds on May 19, 2021.

Ellis-Bextor will also release Songs From The Kitchen Disco on October 23, which promises to feature her most popular disco songs alongside a brand new single.

"During lockdown, our family kitchen discos became a precious time where we could all bop about and be a bit silly," Ellis-Bextor said.

"It made me feel connected to everyone who joined us and I can honestly say the music was a real tonic which brought sparkly joy to my soul every Friday.

"The discos we shared have inspired me and now I want to see all your faces so I can sing for you.

"I want to give everyone a night where just for a little while, we can all lose ourselves under the mirror ball and dance and have fun."

Tickets for the tour are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
