The BBC has confirmed that Zoe Ball will resume hosting of her Radio 2 breakfast show later this month.
The 53-year-old has hosted the flagship weekday show since January 2019 but has taken lengthy absences this year following her mother's cancer diagnosis and subsequent death in April.
Ball last hosted her show on August 8, just four days after returning to the airwaves, but Scott Mills has been covering for her ever since.
Speaking as he took over the show, he told listeners: "If you've just put us on this morning, it's Scott Mills in for Zoe for the next few weeks.
"I'm sending you all my love, Zo', as are the team."
A BBC spokesperson confirmed today: "Zoe will return to the Radio 2 Breakfast Show later this month."
No reason for Ball's unexpected break has yet to be revealed.
