VH-1 have confirmed how the current season of RuPaul's Drag Race will wrap up this month with the coronavirus pandemic making an in-person finale impossible.
The final pre-recorded episode, airing tonight in the US, will see the final five reduced to the final four queens ahead of a reunion special next week.
All of the season 12 queens, minus Sherry Pie - already disqualified due to a catfishing scandal - will get together for "virtual slumber party hosted by RuPaul to kiki about everything that's happened this season".
The finale itself will follow a week later and will also be filmed virtually, albeit with "innovative technology that highlights the creativity of the queens" and a "revolutionary lip-sync battle for the crown".
Last season's winner Yvie Oddly will hand over her crown, while the reigning Miss Congeniality, Nina West, will also be 'present' to hand on the baton following a viewer vote.
Regular judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews will also dial in to the finale alongside other "special celebrity guests".
