Nicki Minaj has encouraged her 22 million followers on social media to not be "bullied" into getting the coronavirus vaccine.
The 38-year-old revealed on Sunday that she had dropped out of appearing at the prestigious Met Gala due to the requirement that guests be vaccinated.
Minaj said that she is not necessarily anti-vaxx but is not comfortable getting vaccinated until she has done enough research into the side-effects.
Later, she shared a bizarre story with her followers, writing: "My cousin in Trinidad won't get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen.
"His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you're comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."
Minaj's tweet quickly went viral, so much so that England's chief medical officer Chris Whitty was asked about it in the latest government coronavirus press conference, where he branded the theory "clearly ridiculous".
Piers Morgan was one of the most vocal critics of Minaj after her tweet, branding her "ghastly" and "one of the rudest little madams I've ever met", also accusing her of "peddling lies that will cost lives". body check tags ::
