Ricky Gervais has an explicit message for coronavirus as he gets his first dose of the vaccine.

Ricky Gervais has revealed that he has been given his first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

At the age of 59, the comedian is now among the section of the public being invited in for the two-dose vaccine.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday afternoon, Gervais shared a picture of him being injected alongside the caption: "Take that, you COVID cunt!"

According to the latest UK government figures, just over 23 million people have now received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine - and the NHS remains on track to offer every adult in the UK the vaccine by the end of the summer.

Gervais, meanwhile, is currently gearing up to film the third and final season of his acclaimed Netflix comedy After Life.
