Former EastEnders actress Priya Davdra, who played Iqra on the soap for three years, is supposedly a top target for Strictly Come Dancing.

Former EastEnders actress Priya Davdra is reportedly in the sights of producers for this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The 36-year-old played the soap's first lesbian Muslim character Iqra Ahmed for three years, leaving in early 2022 as Iqra secured her dream job working in a hotel away from Walford.

Strictly producers are now in the final throes of finalising the lineup for this year's show, which starts in September, and The Mirror says that Davdra is firmly on their radar.

"Priya was singled out as a target for the casting team early in the process and they were keen," a source told the newspaper. "She is young, glamorous and would be a great fit for the show."

Also said to be in the frame for the show is a current EastEnders star - 20-year-old Bobby Brazier, who arrived in the square a year ago playing Freddie Slater.
