Strictly Come Dancing producers are reportedly giving thought to having two same-sex couples on this year's series.
For the first time in the show's history, a same-sex couple was part of the lineup last year as boxer Nicola Adams and pro Katya Jones competed together, although they were forced to withdraw from the competition several weeks in due to a coronavirus scare.
This year the BBC is planning to feature a male-male pairing in the lineup, but according to The Sun, execs are considering having a female same-sex couple too.
"Bosses are still looking at all the options but given the positive feedback from last year, they're seriously considering having two same-sex couples, one male and one female," an insider told the newspaper.
"The show has to move forward and viewers loved last year's series."
Celebrities linked with this year's series, which begins in September, include the government's chief medical officer Chris Whitty, Westlife's Mark Feehily, Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr, Line of Duty actor Gregory Piper, singer Stacey Solomon and Good Morning Britain weather presenter Alex Beresford. body check tags ::
