Strictly Come Dancing producers reportedly decide to pre-record this year's group dances in case coronavirus rules change suddenly.

Strictly Come Dancing producers have reportedly taken the decision to pre-record all of the group dances again this year.

The routines, which open every show, were filmed in advance last year due to coronavirus, with all of the professional dancers bubbling up together in a hotel to get the job done.

Even though the same coronavirus restrictions are not in place this year, the situation could theoretically change at some point during the airing of the new series, which runs from September through until Christmas.

As a result, The Sun says that the producers are not taking any chances and will get all of the group numbers in the bag in the coming weeks.

The decision has also been made to have a reduced studio audience present again this year as a precaution, while the annual mid-series trip to Blackpool has been axed for the second year running.

The new series kicks off on BBC One next month with celebrities including Adam Peaty, Nina Wadia and Tom Fletcher.
