Rob Lowe confirms talks with Ryan Murphy for 'Tiger King' project

Rob Lowe confirms that he is teaming up with Ryan Murphy for a new project based on Tiger King star Joe Exotic.

Rob Lowe has confirmed that he is working with Ryan Murphy on a new project centred around Joe Exotic.

The zookeeper has earned worldwide fame in the last month thanks to the Netflix documentary Tiger King, a seven-part series that tells the story of his extraordinary life and culminates with him being sent to jail for allegedly plotting to murder one of his rivals.

Rumours have been swirling over a possible big-screen or TV series adaptation of Exotic's life story and now Hollywood actor Lowe has revealed that he is teaming up with renowned TV producer Murphy to make it happen.

Lowe wrote on Instagram: "Rob Exotic. UPDATE: Ryan Murphy and I will be developing our version of this insane story. Stay tuned!"

Murphy has a history of adapting real-life stories for the small screen, with his American Crime Story series tackling the OJ Simpson murder trial and the assassination of Gianni Versace, while Feud reimagined the legendary Hollywood rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.
