Oprah Winfrey's bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drew a peak audience of 12.3 million viewers - a 54.7% share of the audience - to ITV last night.
The no-holds-barred interview - first broadcast in the US on Sunday night - featured a number of damaging allegations about the Royal Family, including the claim that an unnamed senior Royal had expressed "concerns" over "how dark" the couple's child might be.
Overall, the programme averaged 11.3 million (54.4%) between 9pm and 10.50pm, garnering ITV's biggest peak audience since the 2019 Rugby World Cup final.
In addition, ITV said that the show was streamed by 2.2 million people on the ITV Hub, which reportedly encountered technical difficulties due to the sheer volume of traffic.
Buckingham Palace has still yet to release an official response to the claims in the interview.
