Freddie Flintoff announces that he has left A League of Their Own after 12 years.

Freddie Flintoff has announced that he has quit as a team captain on A League of Their Own after 12 years.

The 44-year-old has appeared alongside Jamie Redknapp on the comedy panel show since it started in 2010 but will not return for the 17th series later this year.

Announcing the news on Instagram, he wrote: "It's been 12 years, 16 series, 6 road trips across America and a mud bath I'd rather forget.

"But now the time has come to leave the amazing ALOTO team.

"I'd like to say a huge thanks to all of you who tuned in over the years and to everyone I have worked with on the show - what an unforgettable journey it's been."

Flintoff has a packed schedule of TV commitments, also hosting Top Gear, Australian Ninja Warrior and ITV's upcoming reboot of The Games.
