Holly Willoughby could reportedly quit This Morning as part of an ongoing dispute over her salary.
The 40-year-old, who has presented the ITV daytime show alongside Phillip Schofield since 2009, is thought to have recently signed a lucrative new deal to stay with the broadcaster.
However, according to The Sun, Willoughby's former agents YMU are allegedly claiming that they are entitled to as much as £200,000 of her future earnings despite not having represented her since last summer.
"This is not about the money, it's the principle of the thing," a source told the newspaper.
"There has never been any question over commission on contracts that they concluded - this is about what happens moving forwards now that they aren't involved, and them trying to handcuff her for years to come. It's just not right. Holly left YMU to set up on her own, and to take back control of her own future.
"She loves This Morning, and really doesn't want to leave. She is committed to the show, but has been given no choice but to discuss her options moving forwards. She wants to stand up for women, and won't roll over when it comes to unfair renegotiations.
"She has spoken to ITV execs and explained the situation - in essence, she said she'd rather leave the show than let YMU take such a high percentage of her earnings, when they aren't entitled to it.
"Obviously she adores Phillip, and ITV don't want her going anywhere, so they're pulling out all the stops to make sure this gets resolved as amicably as possible."
YMU are one of the largest celebrity agencies in the business, boasting a client roster including Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall.
