Maisie Smith reportedly signs up to take part in the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins following her departure from EastEnders.

Maisie Smith has reportedly signed up to take part in the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in her first project since her departure from EastEnders.

Earlier this month the 20-year-old confirmed that she had left the long-running BBC soap, with her final scenes due to air this Christmas.

Smith is expected to pursue big acting roles in the future, with a move to Hollywood mooted, but according to The Sun her first gig will be as a celebrity recruit on the notoriously-tough Channel 4 endurance show.

"Maisie wants to show there's another side to her beyond the sweet Tiffany she's been known for playing since she was six," a source told the newspaper.

"She got a glimpse of life beyond EastEnders in Strictly and enjoyed the freedom.

"She'd signed up when she told 'Enders bosses she was leaving, and can't wait to get stuck in and prove her grit.

"She's determined to give a good account of herself but knows it'll be tough."

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential.

"However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year."

The new series is expected to be filmed in the coming weeks.
