Netflix has confirmed the drop date and released a new clip ahead of the upcoming third season of acclaimed teen drama Heartstopper.

The show, which stars Joe Locke and Kit Connor as two schoolmates in a budding romance, is based on Alice Oseman's graphic novels and made its debut on the platform in 2024.

Season three was filmed at the end of last year and now the streamer has confirmed that it will premiere on October 3 - although it is unclear at present whether it will be a complete season drop, as previously, or adopt a staggered release pattern.

A synopsis for the new season reads: "Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn't go to plan."

Netflix has also released a teaser clip from the new season - watch below:
