AEK Athens have terminated Joleon Lescott's contract just three months after signing the former Manchester City defender.
Lescott signed a two-year deal with the Greek club in August after falling out of favour at Aston Villa.
The defender, who had a tense relationship with the Villa fans towards the end of his year-long spell, is believed to have clashed with the AEK board after his request to recover from an injury in England was denied, according to ITV Sport.
Lescott has previously played for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, Man City, West Bromwich Albion and Villa.
