Marseille have beaten Ajaccio tonight in their Ligue 1 match.
The first opportunity went Marseille's way. Andre-Pierre Gignac curled in a cross from the left which smacked off the near post.
Paul-Bastien Lasne then whipped in a free kick towards the penalty spot and Junior Tallo was able to reach it with his head, but could only flick it wide.
Marseille increased the pressure on their opponents with Gignac taking the ball down, cutting inside and striking a curling shot that hit the frame of the goal.
However, the goal did come soon after. Mathieu Valbuena passed the ball to the edge of the box from the right, where Dimitri Payet hit it first time and saw it settle in the bottom corner.
The celebrations of the away fans soon died down, however. Lasne won a free kick and then picked himself up to curl it towards the far post, where Grenddy Perozo was waiting to head into the corner.
Marseille recovered well and restored their lead with a goal of real quality from Gignac. A cross came in from the right and Gignac, on the edge of the box and facing away from goal, chested the ball down before volleying into the net.
Valbuena went close early in the second half, hitting a low shot from the edge of the area which Guillermo Ochoa pushed away.
The third goal came with 58 minutes gone as Florian Thauvin was left unmarked in the box and scored from close range.
Gignac almost added to the scoreline but, after picking up Payet's pass, his attempted nutmeg was stopped by Ochoa.
Jordan Ayew then fired in from the edge of the box, but again Ochoa was equal to the shot.
