Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu is on the verge of signing for French side Ajaccio.
The Romanian striker has been in talks with Ajaccio for the past few days following Cesena's decision to let him leave.
When asked how those discussions have gone, Ajaccio president Alain Orsoni revealed that they are "on the right track".
"If we succeed, it will be a massive coup and it is very much on the right track," said Orsoni.
The 33-year-old was sacked by Chelsea in 2004 when he tested positive for cocaine.
