Ajax coach Frank de Boer has snapped his Achilles tendon playing a game of 'foot volley' in training.
The 45-year-old needs surgery after suffering the injury kicking a ball over a small net following his side's 2-0 win over Eredivisie title rivals PSV Eindhoven.
He posted the below photo on Instagram with his thumbs down after having his leg wrapped up in a cast.
Ajax officials said that De Boer may have an operation tomorrow and it is unclear whether he will recover in time for their next match at home to PEC Zwolle on April 3.
